Thanks for joining us for our monthly blog hop! It is great to back on the blog hop, its been a few months, so I was so thrilled to be able to contribute again!
You will be sure to find some awesome ideas and inspiration from the very clever ladies this month!
This month, the them is "Occasions and Saleabration Catalogue Projects". Of course the 6th of January saw the launch of the new Occasions catalogue and the start of Saleabration.... one of the most exciting events for Stampin' Up! If you have never heard of Saleabration, click HERE!
Here are a few cards I made showcasing just a few of the amazing items offered at the moment!
The first two cards are using two different stamp sets. One is using the leaves and sentiment from the stamp set called "Crazy about You". It is a new one from page 31 of the Occasions catalogue. Also featured is "Lotus Blossom" which you can get for FREE from the Saleabration catalogue. Colours I have used in these cards are Wild Wasabi and So Saffron. The card on the left has bakers twine and the card on the right has cotton ribbon.
The next card uses another new stamp set called "Butterfly Basics". The great thing about this stamp set is it has a coordinating thinlits die! Even better is that you can purchase this as a bundle and get 15% off when buying them together.
Firstly I stamped the fern in three colours, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi and Pistachio Pudding. The small butterflies are stamped in Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. The large butterfly is using Old Olive card stock and I stamped randomly with the honeycomb pattern stamp. I then ran it though the bigshot to get this amazing butterfly.
I also used a technique that a fellow Crazy Crafter, Petra Tailor, used recently. The tutorial Petra worked from is: http://youtu.be/ZfYo3i-gPSw. I stamped my sentiment and ran it through the bigshot again with a die from the Chalk Talk die collection. I layered it with several white pieces so it would "pop" but also camouflage.
And finally, my last card is one of my favourites. I have a wedding coming up later in the year so I thought I'd do some experimenting seeings I haven't made many wedding cards before. This new Occasions catalogue has plenty of awesome wedding/engagement/love stamp sets, papers and embellishments!
The background was done in Smokey Slate ink using the "Something Lacy" stamp set. The ribbon is just gorgeous, called "White Jute Ribbon". The stamp set for the sentiment is called "For the New Two". All these items are on page 43 of the new Occasions catalogue. The bow is a new punch which I hope is around to stay! Its so awesome. The sentiment was cut out on the bigshot with the oval framelits and label framelits. To complete this card I also used Cherry Cobbler bakers twine, a silver button and I cut out a mini heart in Basic Grey with a heart punch.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my cards today. I certainly had a great time playing with my new items! We have recently moved house so its been a while since I've had time to sit and play. It helps when I now have half a room for my stuff!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop! Be sure to check back here often as I will be posting more projects in the future!
Next up in the blog hop is the talented Kylie Bertucci.
Until next time, happy crafting!
