Mojo Monday MOJO441 Happy Birthday with Blackberry Bliss

Hi and welcome to my post today for a challenge by Mojo Monday. This week it's a sketch challenge.

Here is my card today. Today I chose to make a square card, to suit the look of the challenge sketch. Mine measures 10.5cm or 4-1/8" square.

When I saw the sketch, I thought of the circle stamp from You're So Lovely stamp set. This stamp set is from the new 2016 Occasions Catalogue that is available to order from until the end of June 2016. It has some lovely sentiments as well, but I just couldn't go past the Happy Birthday from the Tin of Cards stamp set..... which is one of my favourites for sentiments.

The colours I have chosen are Blackberry Bliss, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. I love the boldness of the Blackberry contrasted against the soft Pink. But, like my other card I made today, I wanted to tone it down with some vellum, and the one I have chosen for this card is from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack, which is FREE with every AUD$90 order placed before the end of March.... yep, only 2 days away! But any of Stampin' Up!s beautiful vellum would work just as well!

I will really miss Blackberry Bliss, as it is part of the 2014-2016 In Colour range. That means it will be retired at the end of June 2016. If you love these colours as much as I do, don't forget to stock up on reinkers and cardstock!

Global Design Project #GDP029 - Colour challenge

Hello there, thanks for stopping by my blog today for a challenge from Global Design Project. They have a colour challenge for us this week - eeeek!

The colours they have chosen are Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso. Definitely not colours I think to put together, so here goes!

Here is what I came up with:

Firstly, I stamped by butterflies with the triple stamp set Watercolor Wings. The first layer was stamped off with Bermuda Bay and Tangelo Twist, the second layer is the same ink again, and the third layer is Early Espresso.

The background uses the featured colours with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. However, when I finished stamping my 'splotches', I thought it looked too dark so I layered a piece of vellum over the top.

I layered this panel on a piece of Tangelo Twist Designer Series Paper in the diagonal pattern and then my Early Espresso card base.

Here is the challenge from Global Design Project. You can click on their image to see their blog!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

Hi friends!

Today I made a card for the blog challenge set by Stamp, Ink, Paper. This week they have a Tic, Tac, Toe grid! I love these challenges! You basically chose a line of three options set by the grid! I have chosen Gold - Sequins - Congratulations.

Here is my card.

I don't usually make many cards predominately gold, so I sought this opportunity to pull out my Gold Foil paper and FREE Gold Metallic Glitter Tape that is ONLY available for another few days (with every AUD$90 order). It is from the Sale-a-bration catalogue which sadly finishes on March 31st 2016.

I love washi tape and I have teamed the glitter tape with two different gold washi tapes.. I really love the look of this background - and its super easy and quick! My sentiment is also a stamp from the Sale-a-bration catalogue! The sequins I have used on my card are pulled from the gold sequin trim - I really love that trim! I think it will last me forever, such good value! Lastly I have also used the gold thread to make loops behind my sentiment.

Here is the blog challenge if you'd like to check it out!! You can click on the image to go straight to their site.

Global Design Project #GDP028

Hi everyone!

You know that feeling where you are so sure you've forgotten about something, but can't quite work out what?! Well this was me this morning, with this week's challenge post for one of my favourite blog challenges, Global Design Project! It wasn't until I sat down at my desk and saw my card, and thought, "Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!" because I'd make my card on Friday but got busy with Easter and family! Phew! Luckily I have about 30 minutes to spare! :-)

Here is my card, it is a really simple card which didn't take me long, but I wanted a no frills card for my mum but with all the meaning!

And here is the challenge from Global Design Project. Clicking on the image will take you to their blog!

Global Design Project #027 - Thank You, Watercolor Wash

Hello and welcome to my blog post again today, this time for a Theme Challenge from Global Design Project. I cannot believe this is their challenge #027 already! Doesn't time fly!

Anyway, here is my card I quickly made tonight!

Its so easy! I used my stamp called Watercolor Wash for the background and used my Stampin' Write Markers - mostly in the Brights collection - to create a rainbow pattern or colouring. I love it! The sentiment and circle stamp are from the new Occasions Catalogue called You're So Lovely. Its a great stamp set as it contains heaps of different sentiments for different occasions.... so I feel like I get my monies worth on that one! The circle are cut from the Circles Collection Framelits.

I have finished off my card by adding some silver metalic thread. I love this little touch and I think it is really on-trend at the moment!
Here is the theme challenge from Global Design Project. Click on the image below to go to their page! Check out the amazing talent there on display! A-mazing!

Hello and welcome back to our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for March! We have a very special guest joining us today, the very talented Allison Okamitsu from Canada! Thanks you so much Allison for hopping with us!!

This month we are excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Allison. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

So without further ado, here is my card today!

As I was flicking through images of projects Allison has made, two things really caught my eye!
The first one was a colour pallet she has used on an interesting chalkboard scrapbooking layout. I was also inspired by a card Allison had made and I have used that as my sketch. You can click on the images below to go to Allison's page to view them.

Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight - Botanical Blooms

Well hi there! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I have been so busy working, trying to keep up with housework and more recently being with my son in hospital whilst having his tonsils out, that I almost didn't get to finish my project for this amazing event! But thankfully this morning I got it done, after a bit of a play last night.

I saw a technique by Wendy Cranford on YouTube using a mask with the new stamp set Botanical Blooms (Click HERE to see the video!). I just loved it so much I had to give it a try! I used a post it note for my mask and the flower shape is from the Floral Frames Framelits. The colours I have used are Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Melon Mambo and Rose Red. The sentiment comes from a stamp set called "One Big Meaning". It was new to the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue, and I really hope it sticks around! I just love it! I have stamped it twice using my Stamp-a-ma-jig - such a valuable tool!!

Here is my card.

To finish off my card, I've stamped the mini flowers in the corner and the flower and leaves to match the front of my card.

I hope you've enjoyed my card! Enjoy all the other wonderful creations apart of this Blog Highlight!

Global Design Project #GDP025 - Colour Challenge!

Hello, welcome back to my blog! Today I made a card while the kids were outside playing - this was such a quick and easy card to make too! I followed the colour challenge set by Global Design Project. I love this colour combo: Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey and Smoky Slate!

Here is my card.

To make the diagonal pattern, I used a stamp called "Stamp A Bag" from the Annual Catalogue. Its an awesome stamp set! I didn't really want to use Basic Grey for the background as I thought it might be too dark, so instead I used the Smoky Slate and stamped twice without reinking. This gave a lovely contrast. I also did that to my Daffodil Delight stamp too.

For my sentiment I used a Sale-a-bration freebie, but you could certainly swap that for any greeting! This card is such a versatile card and can be used for any occassion. I decided on Happy Birthday and stamped it twice - once in Daffodil Delight and then I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up a shadow and then stamped in Smoky Slate. I love that effect!

I finished off my card with some Daffodil Delight candy dots.

Here is the challenge by Global Design Project. Click on the image to go to their fabulous blog and check it out! Why not use it to inspire your next project!?
