Global Design Project #GDP020 - Memories in the Making Project Life

Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my blog today. I have had a very early morning so with my kids still in bed and hubby gone to work, I got to have a play in my craft room!

This weeks' challenge for Global Design Project is a CASE challenge: Copy And Selectively Edit. The card was made by Connie Collins, and I'm sure you'll agree it's beautiful!

I made my card using one of the overlays from the Free Sale-a-Bration item Memories in the Making Project Life card collection. I will admit this is the first time I have ever played around with PL! Although I didn't use them for actual PL, I think they lend themselves to card making too!

Here is my card.

MOJO431 - A Nice Cuppa

Hello, thanks for joining me again, for a Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I think I've entered this challenge by the hairs of my chinny chin chin!

When we were at the Onstage Event for Demonstrators, and we got to preview the gorgeous new products from the new 2016 Ocassions catalogue, this was another of the suites that really caught my eye! I love the colours and designs, and Bermuda Bay is one of my favourite colours!

Here is my card today.

I played around with different designs of the DSP for the largest circle, but wasn't happy with how they contrasted with the background pieces. So I settled on a piece of Pool Party cardstock and decided on embossing it instead.... but then I couldn't decide on an embossing folder! I'd seen on YouTube someone use thinlits upside down to create an embossed image so I gave that a try. I really liked the effect it made of the heart swirls. I then sponged over them and the edges with a sponge so they'd pop.

Here is the sketch challenge from Mojo Monday. You can click on the image to go to their site and be inspired!

#GDP019 LOVE - Barnyard Babies

Hello everyone! I have a very cute card today I made for a blog challenge, Global Design Project. The theme is LOVE. I have made a few cards lately using the beautiful products from the new 2016 Ocassions catalogue which would be perfect to use do this theme. But, I wanted to use something different..... One stamp set I hadn't actually used yet (I only purchased it a few months ago!) is Barnyard Babies. It's so adorable! I've decided on the pig because the matching sentiment says HOGS AND KISSES. Great for an 'I love you', anniversary or Valentine's Day card.

Here is my card:

I have used some of the new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper as a mat to my little piggies background, and my main panel. I've used just a thin border which I think provides enough of a highlight without taking the focus off the main panel.

If you don't have a stamp-a-ma-jig, you must get one! It makes lining up the pigs and sentiment so quick and easy! It also helped me to stamp the other pig. The clear sheet has a shiny and matte finish and if you stamp onto the shiny side, it can transfer onto the cards took and therefore create a mirror image.

Crazy Crafters January Blog Hop - Sale-a-bration Products

Well Hello! Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for January! This month we are excited to show off projects made with the brand new 2016 Sale-a-bration Catalogue! We hope you find great inspiration from all the beautiful projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Nicole Spicer - or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup at the end will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Nicole Spicer.

For our blog hop this month, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Floral cards are just not usually my thing..... So what better challenge than the new 2016 Sale-a-bration items Flowering Fields stamp set and coordinating Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. You'll find these on page 12 of the new 2016 Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

So here is my project when it's closed... It is a box made from the Envelope Punch Board! Adjusted for the depth of the items inside! I've also made a belly band so it stays shut without having to adhere it down.

I found a great tool for working out the dimensions, called Box Buster! Have you seen it? I hadn't until I stumbled across it on pinterest! The Crafty Owl has created a template to make life so much easier! I'll include a link to her site at the end of my post!

And here it is open.... hmm..... I wonder what is inside!?

Here are my four cards I've created to fit into my box. They are 4"x4" Happy Birthday cards. They feature some of the colours from the new Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper: Old Olive, Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral and Hello Honey.

Here is a close up of each card, with the matching envelope I made too.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today! I was so thrilled with how they turned out.

Below is the blog hop lineup. At the moment  you are visiting Nicole Spicer.

Global Design a Project #GDP018 - Going Places; Sky Is the Limit

Hello there! Thanks for joining me again for my blog today, following the Global Design Project challenge. It was a sketch challenge this week.... Love those!

Here is my card today.

I also wanted to make a masculine card for my stash, and the Going Places suite is perfect. Match that with the new stamp set Sky Is the Limit from the new 2016 Sale-a-bration Catalogue and its a winner! Lost Lagoon is one of my favourite blue's at the moment, I love the depth of it. I have twice stamped the clouds so there is a bit of dimension too.

The sheet of DSP I have chosen has the text effect which I thought really matched the sketch.

Here is the challenge. You can click on the image to go to their site. Check out the amazing projects from the design team and other entrants.

SIP Challenge 30 - Bloomin' Love

Hello again! The third card I made today is using a colour challenge from Stamp Ink Paper. Although I do find colour challenges more difficult, I thought of this card as soon as I saw the colours. They are Rose Red, Crumb Cake & Gold.

Here is my card.

The sentiment is stamped using the FREE Sale-a-bration item "Sky Is the Limit".... how do you get this stamp set free I hear you say? Its is part of Stampin' Up!'s annual Sale-a-bration, which runs from the 5th January til the 31st March. For every $90 you spend on any Stampin' Up! products, you can chose from a variety of free projects in the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. This particular stamp set is awesome! Just a versatile set! And this stamp set is only available until the end of February as Stampin; Up! are doing this a little different this year and giving us two releases of great FREE products! I'll by sending out a newsletter when that comes our way!

The ends of the sentiment banner has been created using a retired punch (but still available on the Clearance Rack!) called Curly Label punch. Something different but I liked the effect because I wanted to put a candy dot at either end.

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by my blog today, for a challenge from Addicted to CAS - CAKE! If you read my previous post featuring a card I made for Mojo Monday, you'll know that I love this stamp set and DSP! Here I have also used something I hadn't used for a long time from my stash - the Circle Card Thinlits. I've included two photos today - one showing the front of the card unopened, and then one that shows the other side of the circle on the inside.

MOJO430 - Party Wishes

Hello again! Welcome back to my blog today! I've been pretty busy with the school holidays, but I did manage to get some cards done! Thank you PARK for wearing the kids out and thank you DVD! :-)

The first project I made was following a sketch from Mojo Monday. I like doing sketch challenges when I'm not feeling 100% creative. It really helps to get me going! The products I've used today are from the new 2016 Occasions Catalogue. Have you checked it out? Its awesome! If you don't have a copy yet and haven't got a current Demonstrator, please let me know and I'll be happy to post one to you, along with the Sale-a-bration Catalogue - freebies galore!!

Anyway! Here is my card.

When I saw the stamp set "Party Wishes" at our exclusive Demo-only product preview, I had one of those embarrassing "only one person (me) giggled out loud" moment. I really loved the saying "A party without cake is just a meeting".  It really tickled my fancy! LOL.

Here is the sketch challenge from Mojo Moday. Go to their site by clicking on the image and check out the awesome creations people have made. Great for inspiration.

Global Design Project #GDP017 - Bloomin' Love

Hello! Seeings its been AGES since I've blogged, I'll take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope 2016 brings you good health and happiness! Ours has been tinted with sorrow and anxiety with bush fires sweeping through parts of southern Western Australia as we speak. Towns and communities have been cleared along with their historic buildings. We are in ALL CLEAR at the moment, and we really thank God for that.

Today I made a card for the Global Design Project challenge. Its been so long since I've participated in a challenge - my time has been taken up with visitors, celebrations, a bit of camping, dealing with fires and doing a couple of customer orders! I'll share them with you soon!

Here is my card. This was a colour challenge, using Rose Red, Garden Green and Crumb Cake. After I saw the new paper stack called Love Blossoms from Stampin' Up! I fell in love with it, actually the whole suite!

Here is the challenge for Global Design Project. You can click on the image to go straight to their site. So many great ideas and inspiration!
