Global Design Project GDP#003 - Made with Love

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today for another Global Design Project challenge. The challenge this week was "baby". I love making baby cards, though I don't create many! However, an extra incentive for this week's challenge is that my son's pre-primary teacher is expecting a baby in less than 2 weeks time! She doesn't know the gender so of course, I had to make one of each! LOL.

So here are my two cards. I have used the new Designer Series Paper called "Sweet Li'l Things" and the Baby's First Framelits.

Here is the design challenge from Global Design Project blog. You can click on the image to go straight to their page. Please go and check it out! There are amazing projects from the design team and other entrants!

I have used the following supplies in my cards today. I have also used a few retired items today. These were the bakers twine and clear itty bitty buttons in each card. These of course could be swapped for any other embelishments and ribbon/twine.

The Crazy Crafters September Blog Hop - New Holiday Catalogue

Hello friends! Welcome back to our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop! This month we are celebrating the new 2015 Holiday Catalogue, that was launched on 1 September 2015. It is absolutely stunning! Filled with beautiful papers, coordinating stamp sets, washi tape, new big shot accessories, and SO much more!!

We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. We are so lucky to have very talented members in our team!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Handmade by Nicole Spicer - or may have come from the person previous to me in the list below. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Nicole Spicer.

I have made two cards in a similar theme. I created the leaves firstly by sponging three colours onto Very Vanilla cardstock. These colours are Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Early Expresso. I just sponged in a random pattern and used the stampin' sponge to blend the colours together. I really love this effect!

From there I stamped the images from the new stamp set "Lighthearted Leaves" and cut these leaves out with the Leaflets Framelits Dies with my Big Shot. You will find the stamp set on page 44 of the new catalogue. The framelits are from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalgue on page 172.

The supplies I have used on these cards are below. You can click on any of the images to go to my online store. Here you will find all these products, items in each of the current catalogues, weekly deals and retired items on the clearance rack.

Just Add Ink #279

Hello again! What a great day to be able to make two cards! :-) This card, like my other one I blogged earlier, is using a stamp set called "Boys Will Be Boys". I used some less-bright colours in this one and I'm happy with how it turned out! I loved this sketch from Just Add Ink too, very simple but it allows a lot of room for imagination!

Here is my card for this sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch challenge. You can click on this picture to take you to their blog.

Global Design Project #GDP002

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me for my post today for a challenge blog for Global Design Project. This is their second challenge, with the response to their first one absolutely amazing!

Today I wanted to make a card for a little boy, so I have pulled out my stamp set called "Boys Will Be Boys". Its a great set with two sentiments and a few different images. And I love that the images are sketches so they can be coloured in with stampin' write markers.

Here is the card.

The challenge from GDP is below. You can click on the picture to go straight to their blog challenge and check it out for yourself! Why not give it a go!

Addicted to CAS #71: Codeword Blue - Swallowtail

Hello blogland!

Its been another busy week in our household, but luckily, its Friday! I don't usually have much "work" to do on a Friday so I can catch up on a few things... like this blog post! I created a card this week here and there, for the Addicted to CAS Challenge #71. Their challenge this week is Blue. It also got to have a play with my aquapainter to use my favourite colours. I've used Lost Lagoon from the 2014-2016 In Colours, Bermuda Bay from the Brights Collection, and Soft Sky from the Subtles Collection.

Here is my card.

The challenge as I said is from Addicted to CAS. Here it is!

Mojo Monday 414 & TGIF Challenge TGIFC19 - Peaceful Wreath

Hello there! Welcome back to my blog! I have been a bit MIA lately with life just totally getting in the way of my crafting and blogging :-( But I got some time in today, so its all good!

Today I've combined two challenges for my card. They are Mojo Monday and TGIF Challenge.  Mojo Monday provided the sketch and TGIF the colour pallet. I'll show you their challenges and links at the end.

Here is my card.

And here are the challenge blogs I've used today!

When I saw the colours I thought of Christmas. I mean, who wouldn't when you've been pouring over the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue! It also reminded me of holly leaves and the new stamp set "Peaceful Wreath". So I set off to stamp and colour the image. It was then when I was deciding what to do with the completed wreath that I thought of the Mojo Monday sketch and how it would highlight the wreath for the center image.

I have used the new designer series paper stack quite a lot lately for Christmassy backgrounds on my cards. I think they work, especially the diagonal stripe. In this card I've used it with a strip of Winter Wonderland Vellum.

Here are a list of the supplies I've used in my card.
